What is EHN Insurance Coverage?

EHN health insurance, or Employers Health Network, is an employer resource to provide health care services at a lower cost to large employers.

EHN offers insurance coverage for medical services, dental services, vision services, and mental health insurance services.

The EHN portal allows users to explore in network providers, find pharmacies that are covered, and explore additional plan benefits. Additionally, they also offer members Telehealth services for a variety of providers.

Types of EHN Health Insurance Coverage

If your employer has provided you with an Employers health network plan, you likely have a specific plan in place. While these plans vary based on the collaboration between EHN health insurance and your employer, here are some common benefits and options available in the plans.

Preferred Network Benefits

The preferred network is generally offered through all EHN plans. This plan shows all of the in network providers curated based upon your location.
These providers include dentists, pediatricians, general medicine doctors, hospitals, clinics, and other specialists.
The provider network can also include referrals to substance abuse and mental health treatment providers.

Expanded Network Benefits

Some EHN plans also offer the Expanded Network providers option. This option provides a national list of additional providers in your desired area of treatment. Technically, these providers are out of network providers, but you can receive treatment with them for an additional cost.
This offering is given through a partnership between EHN and Aetna Signature.
Similar to the preferred provider structure, you can find dental, medical, vision, and mental health providers.

Prescription Drug Benefits

Depending on your EHN plan, you may also be eligible for prescription and pharmacy benefits. These can include lower cost or free prescription drugs at in network pharmacies, and reduced prescription costs at out of network pharmacies.

Core Care Benefits

Another option for many EHN plans is the Core of Care offering. This plan uses a holistic approach to give you full-spectrum care in a variety of areas.
Generally, once you have met with your primary care physician to establish a treatment plan or treatment goals, you will be able to access the Core of Care treatment network providers to aid in health care services.
This plan option is not available through all employers, so you will need to check with your specific employer or health insurance representative to check your eligibility.

Addiction Treatment Cost

Due to the passing of the Affordable Care Act in 2014, health insurance companies cannot charge additional premiums or deny care for pre-existing conditions.

Thankfully, due to the mental health care and substance treatment services needed to treat substance abuse, your insurance company is required to classify this as a pre-existing condition.

Many fear having to pay out of pocket for rehab centers. However, your EHN health insurance plan will make it easier to access the care you need.

Your treatment facility will be able to work with you to determine what your insurance provider will cover, and can explain your EHN health coverage benefits to you.
